  23. This update set transforms the generic 68K Personal Paint 7.1b
  24. executable to one optimized for the 68020 instruction set (which
  25. is also used by the 68030, 68040 and 68060 CPUs).

  27. The input file must be the original, non-compressed Personal Paint
  28. 7.1b file (684996 bytes). The PPaint7_Update.lha archive can be
  29. used to upgrade versions 7.0 or 7.1 to 7.1b. Since the imploded
  30. version is not supported by this upgrade, the imploded version 7.0
  31. must first be deploded, then upgraded to 7.1b, after which this
  32. upgrade can be applied. The resulting output file has a length of
  33. 677644 bytes.

  39. This archive also contains incremental patches to create versions of
  40. Personal Paint compiled for 68030, 68040 and 68060 CPUs. These files
  41. are included due to popular demand (the performance differences are
  42. very small). For instructions on manually applying these patches run
  43. "Spatch" with no parameters.

  45. IMPORTANT: Remember to back-up the old PPaint file before proceeding with
  46. the update!
